My favourite travel writer is Dervla Murphy who was born in Lismore Co Waterford Ireland . She is an enthusiastic cyclist and did most of her travels by bike. She has written many articles and books on travel including Full Tilt: Ireland to India with a bicycle .This is an overland cycle trip through Europe, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. I was very taken by her first book Wheels Within Wheels, a personal story of her début into parenthood. Her career as a journalist and travel writer flourished as she combined parenthood and her passion for travel with her small daughter in tow on the bike. I have been so impressed that I scribbled down a few words to try and hold on to a piece of this role model.
