Lets go Loolala with Lily Anne

Friday 13th Lucky for some

On Friday 13th I had my last swim in the public pool. By 4 pm I knew things were changing rapidly. I spent no less than €120 on groceries in Auchan supermarket to last for at least a month. I was advised on suitable French wines by the Auchan personnel. That’s when I heard that Madrid airport was apparently not accepting flights from Morocco. I knew straightaway that Béa’s holiday plan was scuppered also- Tunisia would have to wait. I thought of my young house sharer in Ireland who was due to get married on 14th March in Madrid.

Saturday 14 March

This was indeed a sunny day and I was invited to dine out in the garden with Béa, Leo, Béa’s daughter Sandrine and her copin Raphael.

The Menu :

 Apéritif

Entrée  foie gras

Boulinade ( a local catalane fish speciality)

A selection of cheeses (camembert from Normandy, blue from Auvergne etc)

We were in a jovial mood, playing with words and sentences such as:

Blanc sur rouge rien ne bouge          White on red nothing moves

Rouge sur blanc Tout fout le camp    Red on white Let it all hang out

Lemon tree oh so pretty
