Chez Béa

I just have to say more about this house I am living in. It takes my breath away! I have been asked to give virtual tours by friends and family so I have introduced them to two little fish who mean a lot to me as they are not unlike my two fish characters that will appear from time to time on my blog. That was some coincidence!
Ok, from the outside the house seemed quite American to me with the various levels and open plan balconies. Into the cloakroom and to the right there is a large tree painted on a huge wardrobe. Elsewhere there are sun hats hanging to the left and lots of real plants so all in all, a rhapsody of green. Then into the hallway where the fish were waiting to welcome me. Here are the many nooks and crannies and the swirling spiral staircase made of stone.

Nooks and Crannies
The light from the garden shines through the kitchen window. The kitchen is an eclectic mix of modern and vintage. The drawers don’t need to be oiled. You don’t have to shake them to open as you do in my house. They simply glide!

I’ll concentrate on what really appealed to me. The colour scheme was muted, sand coloured cushions, with a lot of timber furnishings and a blackboard with the words Tout est possible! (All is possible!). Beyond the kitchen shafts of light from the stained glass illuminated the front of the house.

Upstairs in my bedroom were my two fat ladies in their vintage swimming costumes. They became my virtual best friends. I guess I winked ‘Bonjour, bonsoir’, à tout à l’heure’ on a daily basis. Such cleavage, such nonchalance –totally happy in their voluptuousness.
The bathroom was also muted colours of warm brick and wood, with a spacious shower and daylight close by. The real deal with this house was the balconies, a key part of the structure. In the mornings the sun shone brightly at the back of the house and in the afternoons at the front.

I forgot to mention Béa’s workroom but as you can see she is practical and has an eye for design.
Gollum is Lord of the desmesne
I’d say Picasso might have painted the staircase in with the cat and the two female bathing figures. It’s interesting, Anne.
Thanks Joan – could it be a Joan thing to do? Regards from Lily Anne
